JOB VACANCY: ELECTRICIAN/BATTERY DISASSEMBLY OPERATOR

In recent years, electric cars have become increasingly commonplace, and this trend is set to continue in the future. But what happens to electric vehicle batteries when they reach the end of their life? That’s where you come in! At Out of Use, we handle the collection and dismantling of electric car batteries. As a battery dismantling operator, you’ll be responsible for the correct discharging, dismantling and testing of electric vehicle batteries (hybrid, plug-in and fully electric). These batteries can then be used for other applications or, where appropriate, recycled.

You will be based at our warehouse in Beringen.

• You will dismantle electric vehicle batteries and be able to work with high-voltage components (800 V!)
• You will work on high-voltage battery packs from 44 car brands
• You will disconnect individual connections from batteries
• You will test the modules and discharge them
• You prioritise safety and ensure a safe working environment during dismantling
• You may also be involved in the construction of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems)
• You will place the goods in the correct work area using mobile transport equipment

What do we expect from you as a battery dismantling operator?

• You are keen to help build a more sustainable world and contribute to the growth of Out of Use as an environmental company
• You have successfully completed a course in electrical engineering (minimum A2 level)
• You hold an HEV1 and/or 2 certificate (or are willing to undertake this further training)
• You hold a forklift truck operator’s certificate (or are willing to obtain one)
• You may hold a certificate in operating an overhead crane (or are willing to learn how to do so)
• You are extremely (even to the point of being overly) concerned about your own safety and that of your colleagues
• You are able to work both independently and as part of a team
• You are flexible and willing to help other colleagues with different tasks from time to time
• You can carry out tasks meticulously in accordance with established procedures
• You are meticulous with administrative tasks, quality-conscious and organised
